I don't even know where to begin with my recommendation of Greg.

I called him directly as it was his listing of the home we purchased as our forever home. He responded immediately and though he took this listing due to yet another high recommendation, this home is almost two hours away from him. Within days of contacting him we were able to see the home. We drove 4.5 hours to see it. Grep was on time and had arranged for the seller to be there as well to orient my husband and I to the home and the land it sits on. We were so grateful Greg did this because we had so many questions that were unique to an out of the way rustic location. Greg was beyond thorough in walking us through the original offer for the purchase. He explained every aspect of the contract, which after buying and selling 6 homes I never had an agent do this. They may hit the highlights but he explained and expanded on key clauses. My husband and I hit a major snag with our original lender, who clearly couldn't have cared any less that a appraisal needs to be done with swiftness. We had to switch lenders! Greg was instrumental in suggesting an amazing bank and equally amazing loan officer. Greg regularly monitored the status of the loan, the appraisal, repairs per home inspection(He even suggested a fantastic inspector!) and finally our closing. With a major glitch we only closed 5 days after what we originally anticipated. Without Greg's input Lord only knows when we would have closed. Greg cares. It is not simply a job, but he cares about people. He cares about his clients and can empathize when things go amiss. He has a great sense of humor and doesn't mind walking in mud with his clients to ensure they are getting all the information they need through the home buying and selling process. We are blessed to have had the honor of working with him.

"My husband and I bought a home recently and Greg Hounshell was our agent. When it comes time for us to upgrade and buy a new home, we will absolutely be calling on Greg for his assistance! He was very professional, and had an in-depth knowledge of not only the local market, but also the process we needed to go through in order to make our purchase. He was very straight forward and honest with us. He was also very patient with us when it came to our search for the perfect home, as well as clearly explaining every step of the process. Greg also helped us negotiate an excellent purchase price for the home we finally decided on, and contacted us regularly whenever there were any updates. He was very easy to get in touch with any time we had a question, which was very important to us. "Look no further – Greg Hounshell should be at the top of your list for a professional, knowledgeable and courteous real estate agent. My experiences with Greg have been nothing short of exceptional. I have a tendency (good or bad?) to over research and try to be as educated as I can on my purchasing decisions. That also brings on the challenge of finding professionals that can live up to the standards I expect. Greg was highly recommended to me from a local real estate appraiser when my wife and I started looking for our first home. The first time I emailed Greg his response was surprisingly quick and included exactly what I had asked for. My wife and I looked through the listings and wanted to go look at some of the houses. Greg was timely with a date to tour the properties. A snow storm occurred the day we chose but that didn’t stop us from our planned visits. The house my wife fell in love with was a ‘short sale’. Anyone that has been through or dealt with a short-sale can attest there are unique challenges with this type of sell. Greg was nothing but helpful and knowledgeable in this process. We were able to close on the short sale in 2 months (1 month waiting on the bank to accept our offer and 1 month for the normal house buying/closing items). If you are not familiar with a ‘short-sale’, 2 months sounds like a long time but from my research that is a very timely short-sale. There were many obstacles along our way and Greg was more than willing to help and advise us through each one. He was knowledgeable and helped us with every request or question we had. Another thing I truly found comforting is that he did what WE asked for, he did not try to ‘up-sale’ at every occasion as many will do. "Greg was patient with me and my family as we looked at well over 70 homes in the Christiansburg area, striving to find the one that fit our needs and our budget. What I especially liked was his background in engineering that helped point out key structural considerations - especially in a few houses that we liked that we would have missed. We were buying a home, but it is also an investment, and it needed to be sound, and comfortable. I appreciate Greg's work with us to make that happen."
